PROVOKING GODS DIVINE RESPONSE!!
Scripture Connect: 1 Kings 3:4-5 and 2 Samuel 7.
1 Kings 3:4-5 NLT
4• The most important of these places of worship was at Gibeon, so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings.
5• That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!”
What does it mean to provoke a response?
To deliberately try to get a reaction or a reply from someone.
Doing something in other to get a response from a person.
Most times it’s deliberate because you are trying to provoke a response from the person.
What does it mean to provoke a Divine Response from God?
This means getting heaven’s attention, or in quote “getting God to notice you”.
Does it mean that God doesn’t see us? Sure he does see everyone, but at times if you want extra sauce or juice you have to ask, seek and find or going the extra mile and pressing more and more in His presence using the spiritual tools accessible to us.
From the scripture above we see that solomon sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings to the Lord and that same night God visited him with an open cheque. He had an immediate response from God that same night wow!!
Did you see anything different from how He approached God? There was a back up to his prayer and worship, there was a Sacrifice of a thousand burnt Offering backing Him up, how can God look the other way?
Some of us wonder why we haven’t gotten heaven’s attention towards our petition or ourselves; the reason could be the quality of your relationship with God, the quality of your Offering, the quality of your heart and motives behind your prayers, your passion/dedication to the things of God; or maybe you haven’t persevered more and sort Him more earnestly!
Solomon had great honour for God, he recognized what God did for his father David, the battles He fought for them and the blessings God lavished on David and the Israelites.
Solomon also recognized the love, respect, honour, devotion and dedication his father David had for God that provoked God to bless David more than he has ever imagined, giving him lasting dynasty (posterity) read up 2 Samuel 7 for the full gist.
God honoured David because David honoured God. God blessed Solomon with wealth, riches and wisdom to lead the people because Solomon honoured God and sort for more.
Honour shows in your service, in your passionate and dedication to God! The two can’t exist without the other.
What could have triggered such a divine response from God?
the magnitude of Solomon’s sacrifice to God, his motive and His heart.
How does one provoke a divine response?
Dedication, Passion, Discipline, Generosity, the quality of your Sacrific, evangelism and perseverance.
What are you doing to get a response from God today?
Sometimes you need to go the extra mile and add some extra oil in order to get light. Sometimes praying about a Situation isn’t enough; you go the extra mile with fasting or showings seed or even evangelism.
Evangelism has made a major impact to my life and Spiritual journey. When I was still growing up in my Christian Faith I noticed that whenever I have a Problem and it seems to persist after prayers I step out to evangelize and immediately that door opens up. I have so many Testimonies to this account. Evangelism is indeed a powerful tool in bringing down divine response from God.
